Bonbona is an interactive audio storybook app for young children, made by STARMOON TECHNOLOGIES INC. We built it to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no chat, and nothing a child can buy inside the app.
This information is stored in the app's own storage on your device. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
The child's name (it never leaves the device), photographs, video, audio recordings, contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, or payment information. The app does not ask for microphone or camera access.
This holds even if we later add an optional purchase to the app. Any purchase would be processed entirely by Apple, and we would never see or receive your card number or billing details. If we begin recording whether a purchase was made, we will say so here and update the date at the top before that change ships.
We do not use any of it for advertising, for building profiles about children, or for tracking anyone across other apps or websites. We do not sell it.
Bonbona is made for young children, roughly ages four to six, and we treat it as directed to children under 13 under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and as a service used by children under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.
For parents and guardians. Because we do not operate accounts, we usually have no way to connect analytics data to a particular child or family. You can clear everything the app has stored at any time by using Reset in Settings or by deleting the app. If you would like us to delete the anonymous analytics data associated with your installation, contact us at the address below and we will help you identify and remove it.
We use one third-party service, and only one:
We use no advertising networks, no attribution or install-tracking services, no social media software development kits, and no crash-reporting service that collects personal information. Session recording and screen recording are switched off.
Information kept on the device stays in the app's private storage, protected by the operating system. Analytics data is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored on PostHog's United States infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small so there is very little to lose.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information. We share it only with PostHog, in its role as our processor, as described above. We may disclose information if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid legal request, or to protect the safety of a user.
Information stored on the device is kept until you reset it or delete the app. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months and is then deleted automatically. We do not keep backups of it beyond that period.
Our analytics provider processes data in the United States. If you use Bonbona from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there, under appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes affecting children's information will be described clearly here before they take effect.
